Welcome to Cornell Tech!

Congratulations on your admission to the Johnson Cornell Tech MBA Class of 2026! This is the first in a series of emails designed to provide essential information and action items to help you prepare for your JCT MBA program.

My name is Laura Graffitti, Associate Director of MBA Programs, and I am part of the Student & Academic Affairs team at Cornell Tech. I oversee the operations of the JCT MBA program and serve as a primary point of contact for all MBA students. I work closely with colleagues at both Cornell Tech and the Johnson School in Ithaca. I’m thrilled to welcome you to campus this summer! Please review the email below to begin preparing for your program.

New Student Checklist

The New Student Checklist provides a step-by-step guide to everything you need to complete before arriving in June. This checklist will be updated over the coming months with additional details and deadlines for each task. We recommend starting with the “First Things First” section to finalize your application and activate your NetID and Cornell email. Your Cornell NetID is a unique electronic identifier that, along with a password, grants secure access to non-public Cornell resources and information. Additional instructions for activating your NetID and Cornell email will be sent in March.

Important Dates:

Please carefully review the “important dates” listed on the New Student check-list and put them in your calendar to plan ahead. These dates include the mandatory JCT MBA orientation on Monday, June 2, 2025. Additional dates, including exams will be shared as we get closer to the start of the semester.

Summer Term Attendance
The summer core curriculum is extremely accelerated. Class sessions and exam dates are mandatory; plan to be fully engaged and limit your outside commitments. Typically, you will take two classes at a time, with in-class sessions four days a week and the other day set aside to work on assignments or study for exams. Please understand that weekends are not free. Weekends are frequently needed for homework, academic review sessions, exams, and other activities. This is particularly true during the accelerated summer core curriculum. We urge you to avoid outside commitments as much as possible.

Health

In the next few weeks we will update this section with important deadlines and action items for new students, including Cornell’s health requirements, health insurance details, and disability services information.

Housing

Students attending Cornell Tech full-time will have the opportunity to apply for our on-campus housing facility – The House. For more information on housing options and FAQs, please visit the The House website

Johnson Cornell Tech MBA Students who begin their program in June 2025 can apply for a Full-Year license (June 2025 – May 2026) starting on Tuesday, March 25, at 10:00 am. The housing application link will be sent to your Cornell email address along with details. The Application dates are:

  • Application Opens: Tuesday, March 25th, at 10:00 am
  • Application Deadline to Apply: Friday, April 4th, by 11:59 pm

We are so excited to welcome you this June! We will continue to send emails every couple weeks with upcoming deadlines and action items to complete to ensure you are prepared for the start of the semester.
