We will contact you if we run into any issues confirming your transcripts/test scores.
All incoming Cornell Tech master’s students must submit official copies of university academic records or transcripts from all previously attended universities to Cornell Tech prior to matriculation.
For international students, if you have submitted an official evaluation from WES, Spantran, or ECE, you do not have to submit the report again. If the evaluation was not official (a student copy) an official report or official transcripts must be submitted.
To be considered official, the required documents must be received directly from the issuing institution and properly authenticated with final grades and the degree that was awarded. If your academic records do not state your degree-conferral date, you must also provide an official copy of your degree certificate.
If your academic records are not in English, you must provide an official English translation in addition to your official academic records.
Official electronic transcripts (preferred) must be e-mailed to admissions@tech.cornell.edu.
Paper academic records must be mailed to:

If you have previously arranged for the delivery of your official transcript to Cornell Tech, please be advised that we are currently in the process of reviewing all submitted documents. It may take some time for these updates to be reflected in your status portal. You do not need to resend your transcript. Should any issues arise with the transcripts, we will contact you.
Please note that all documents sent to Cornell Tech/Cornell University become the property of Cornell Tech/Cornell University and cannot be returned.
Your Cornell NetID is a unique electronic identifier that, when combined with a password, provides secure access to non-public Cornell resources and information.
Cornell provides additional security protection for personal data by requiring Two-Step Login to access important online resources, such as Student Center and Canvas. Two-Step Login is a two-factor authentication service that prevents the use of stolen Cornell passwords by requiring confirmation from something a third party doesn’t have, such as your phone or another device.
Because some tasks you need to complete before the start of the term will require Two-Step Login, enroll during the NetID activation process.
To Activate Your NETID: All students will receive an email 24-36 hours after they have submitted their deposits with instructions on how to activate and access their NETID. If you have already submitted your deposit, the email will be sent in March for JCTMBA students and in April for LLM, Engineering & Jacobs students. Students will have 7 days after the email is sent to activate their NETID. To get your 7-digit ID, please log into your Cornell Student Essentials account and search under ‘Demographic Information’.
It is strongly recommended that you activate Two-Step Login during the NetID activation process. If for some reason you do not, be sure to follow the steps outlined on the IT@Cornell website and set up Two-Step Login so that you can gain access to required resources.
LLM, Engineering & Jacobs Students: NETID activation will begin in April.
If you have any issues activating your NETID please contact Cornell IT support here:
https://it.cornell.edu/support
or
https://it.cornell.edu/netids
Student ID cards are required to access all buildings at Cornell Tech. Once you have activated your NETID please login here and upload your ID photo by Friday, May 9, 2025 to ensure it is ready for pick-up at your new student orientation in June.

Before you can apply for a US student visa (F-1), Cornell Tech must issue you a Form I-20. The I-20 is issued by Cornell Tech on behalf of Cornell University and Cornell Tech. To get started and to submit your I-20 materials, please click here. Please note that we only issue an I-20 after you have submitted your deposit.
In order to request an I-20 you will need to submit the following documentation:
– Proof of funding for tuition + cost of living
– Valid passport
You can learn more about the visa process and important immigration information from Cornell University’s Office of Global Learning.
Admitted students are encouraged to apply for their visa as early as possible to avoid potential processing delays. While uncommon, admitted students should notify Cornell Tech Admissions of any delays in obtaining a visa. Please note that available visa interview appointment times are at the discretion of the U.S. consulate/embassy; Cornell Tech is unable to influence the appointment dates available.
Please refer to this step-by-step guide provided by International Services regarding how to apply for your F-1 or J-1 student visa.
Most international students at Cornell (including non-degree and exchange students) have an F-1 student visa. Nearly all students with a J-1 visa are sponsored by their government or another external agency and are required to have J-1 status to receive their funding. In fact, you are only eligible for a J-1 visa if more than 50% of your funding comes from a source other than personal or family funds. (Students with full Cornell funding are eligible to request J-1 status, if preferred.)
If you are deciding between an F1 or a J1 visa, you can compare the two here.
If you are already in the U.S. in active F-1 or J-1 student status, you will need to have your SEVIS record transferred to Cornell from your current school before classes begin. Talk to your current international student advisor about your travel and employment plans, then indicate your intended transfer release date on your Admission Supplement. You are encouraged to submit your Admission applications and materials before your transfer release date.
We will not be able to issue your new immigration documents until after your transfer release date. You will have the same SEVIS ID and will not need to pay the SEVIS fee again. If you have questions about applying for a new visa, contact International Services within the Office of Global Learning or visit their For F-1 Transfer Students webpage.
This is Cornell Tech’s transfer form which includes the SEVIS school code.
Note: Students with SEVIS transfers do not need to leave the US between academic programs. This is true even if the visa stamp in your passport has expired. If you have questions, please reach out to an international student advisor to clarify your status and options.

Cornell Tech strongly values its culture of courtesy both inside and outside the classroom. We expect all students to adhere to classroom norms and policies with special attention given to them when there are guest speakers on campus. We believe attendance is important, and students, faculty, and staff should be punctual to everything they attend. We hope that all students will stay motivated to learn, help each other, and speak up when they know someone is not adhering to these values.
Please remember that all members of the Cornell Tech community must adhere to all Cornell University policies including the policies listed in our Standards of Professional Conduct article. Please review this article carefully before arriving to Campus.
